Prepress & Design

The Ink Well offers a full range of pre-press capabilities, in both Mac and PC platforms. We are an Adobe Authorized Print Service Provider and fully support their suite of applications. This ensures a certain level of digital output quality and support.

At The Ink Well, we recommend the Adobe Creative Suite product. It includes InDesign for page layout, Photoshop for image editing, Illustrator for vector illustrations and Acrobat for PDFs. Adobe PDF is a cross platform Postscript format that allows embedding of everything needed to print. The Ink Well recommends submitting a PDF along with color seperated print outs of your files to help ensure proper output.

We support a variety of applications at The Ink Well. For a full list visit our Supported Applications page. We may be able to work with files not listed but we can not guarantee it.

We output all of our printing plates on a digital platesetter. This allows the plate to be a first generation reproduction of your file. Halftone quality & consistancy are the largest improvements when using digital plates. We also output to three Canon machines that give us both color and high-speed black & white capabilities.

If you do not already have artwork, let The Ink Well create it for you. We have a design team that can come up with a concept and see it through completion. Whether you need simple single color or complex process color, we can design it for you.
